Pompeii is an incredibly well preserved Roman town buried and forgotten under 20ft of volcanic ashes. Anna’s tour of this world famous site is customized to people’s desires and physical capabilities.

The city is roughly 150 acres large (it hosted once 15000 inhabitants!) so the tour typically revolves around the highlights surrounding the city centre (the Forum), unless otherwise requested by the group. On a typical tour, the following places will be on the itinerary: the Forum and its public buildings, the Temples, the Thermal Bath, the Big Theatre, a private house; snack bars and shops.

Marvel at the fabulously preserved frescos and mosaics which adorn the walls and floors of the villas. And see first hand the most dramatic evidence of what happened on 79 AD: the casts of the people who perished during the eruption.

Features

High on the list of the Wonders of the World, the second most visited archaeological site in Italy and the 5th in the world, Pompeii is the largest archeological site in the world, Pompeii and is a must-see during your stay in the bay of Naples (and definitely a place you want to check off your bucket list!)

– Adding an hour to the tour allows you to reach the Amphiteater and visit one of the recently opened houses decorated with the most incredibly well preserved cycle of frescoes.

– Two hours can be added to combine the visit of Pompeii with Herculaneum. Less famous and visited than Pompeii, Herulaneum nonetheless has so much to offer to visitors. Unlike Pompeii, the heavy blanket of lava that covered it carbonized and preserved wood and other organic based materials such as beds, doors, food. During the tour we will see the skeletons of 300 people who perished near the sea wall, discovered in 1980.
